Off on the edge of town is a many-acre plot of land; out of the way and forgotten. Ophelia, the Guardian of the house, has been tasked to protect those that live with her until the owner, Ayako, returns. Though the protection isn't so much from human beings, but from the beasts and devils in the forest.
One night, Ophelia finds herself as a rescuer of a man who was a victim of a car accident that happened to roll onto the property. From there, the quiet, forgotten world of the Sanctuary is finally tied to the normal living world as the victim soon becomes a resident himself.
