Keya Vora had her entire life laid out in front of her by her parents. What colleges she was going to apply to, what clubs to join at those colleges, where she was going to apply after college, where she would live. All of it started when she told her parents she wanted to be an engineer. But her parents didn't know why she wanted to apply to the college near where her brother lived. And they didn't know that in her room in a small box laid a small rainbow flag. And they didn't know that band that she was part of that her parents assumed was just a "fun high school" thing was where her dreams really lay.

With all of the secrets she kept from her parents, her best friend no longer talking to her, her mental health a mess, and her band not having a drummer, Keya Vora truly felt as though her life was crumbling in her hands. But maybe the ruins would leave something salvageable, maybe even something great.
