When Michael Clifford moved to Australia, to attend the worlds most prestigious school for mentally ill teens, he imagined a prison. Or a hospital. Not an upper class boarding school with butlers and a polo team.
The depressed, Italian teen found himself surrounded by 30 boys his age, none of which spoke the same language as him.
For some reason, he doubted that attending the school was going to make him happier. But sometimes happiness comes from the most unlikely source.
(So this is a Muke AU. Michael is Italian and can speak a bit of English. But obviously the language barrier is there to make things difficult! I'll probably use google translate for most of the dialogue so if it's wrong I'm sorry! But for basic conversations I'll make sure it's correct, not that anyone cares!)
I kind of suck at making covers but if anyone would like to let me try and make one for their book then I'd love to give it a go! Message me if you're interested.

Everything's happy in the 5SOS house right? Wrong. The problem is Luke. Since year nine, Luke had been self harming, and struggling with anorexia and bulimia. One night, he has a freak out, and the other 5SOS boys find out. Michael's heart rips into pieces when he finds out, seeing that this is the boy he's in love with. Michael admits to being gay to all of the boys, and so does Luke. With everything going good, Luke does a twitcam to tell all of the fans about his problems, and after that twitcam Luke finds out he has a twin sister! Roommates | Cashton
Calum Hood was the stereotypical jock in high school. He was the star of the football team and basketball team. The majority of his old classmates loved him, envied him, or wanted to be him. Now that he was at the University of Melbourne on a football scholarship, he was hoping to reach that status yet again. He wasn't going to university for the classes and academics; he was going to pursue his career in football. He wasn't a lame geek that was going to spend his weekends studying and doing boring homework that wouldn't benefit him. He wasn't going to let those nerds annoy him with their smarts either like he did in high school. Not to mention that he was a full-blooded frat boy. Classes and grades and nerds weren't about to get in his way of that. Ashton Irwin was considered a nerdy hipster. He was more into the arts and academics of things, his strong suit being English and art history. Not only that, but he had a passion for music as well. He was a talented singer that helped get him a full ride scholarship to the University of Melbourne, along with his exceptional knowledge in English. Though, he wasn't at all popular in high school. He was quite the opposite and he was okay with it. He didn't want to be popular and have his every move analyzed. It also meant that he would've had to hangout with the jocks, who he didn't like at all. Now, due to his uni class schedule, he would be free of the majority of the jocks and hopefully frat boys. They were bullies and he didn't want to have to be associated with any of them. He would make sure of that. Twenty nine year old advertising executive Michael Clifford and his best mate Calum Hood are at their usual haunt, having a night out clubbing. Michael meets Luke, a teenager venturing out in the gay nightlife for the first time. Michael takes Luke home with him for the night, and gradually Luke begins to find out more about gay life through a close circle of friends. ~~~ A blatant take on the Queer As Folk TV series that ran in the UK 1999-2000 & was remade in the USA 2000-2005. These series dealt with gay rights and social issues featuring storylines concerning homophobia, HIV & AIDS, Proposition 14 (USA version), violence/gay bashing, coming out, drug use, gay marriage & parental rights amongst others. The original UK series was set in Manchester, the US version in Pittsburg, I have set this version in Sydney at the same time (Early 90's) and have kept the original music that was first used in the UK version and re-used in the US version. I've renamed the characters (obviously) and also place names etc to suit the change in city. I've also added in some Australian-ness to suit the location. If you haven't seen the TV series, the UK version was ground breaking for it's time, nothing like it had been seen before and it sent controversial waves rippling which Showtime picked up on. They re-made it for a US audience, using nearly the exact same script before carrying it on and expanding it into 5 series. I highly recommend you watch if you can! I let out a sigh as I walked into work, running a hand through my hair and adjusting the hat on my head. As I walked behind the counter I was surprised to see someone whom I did not know dressed in a uniform. I blinked a few times, noticing he was talking to my manager. "Who is that?" I turned to the girl working front-counter register at the time. She turned her head and looked around me. "I don't know, never seen him before." I let out a sigh and walked towards my manager. I never knew exactly what I would be doing until I got there, when I reached her she smiled. "Luke! Just the boy I wanted to see!" I looked at her and waited.
