Hach

The year is 2205. The environmental changes predicted by a vast array of scientists from around the world has come true. They were correct in spite of the naysayers. Correct except most of their modeling was based on a fairly static upward trend on the global warming chart. The reality was that, once the point of no return had been reached in the early 2000's, global warming accelerated exponentially instead of in the predicted arithmetic mode.

The results were predictable. Greenland and Antarctic ice melted at unprecedented rates. The additional water in the oceans heated and expanded as they warmed beyond anything anticipated or predicted. The resultant tides inundated massive chunks of real estate, whose occupants were forced to relocate inland. Somewhere near a billion people. Massive flooding began occurring in some areas and desertification in others. Massive hurricanes and cyclones became a year-round occurrence.

A complete breakdown of civilization was the result. Governments collapsed, entire communications systems were rendered useless, basic sanitation ceased to exist, running water and electricity became a thing of the past. The world had quickly become literally a place where only the fittest survived. This is the story of a man named Hach. He is one of the fittest.
