When a fatal car crash leaves Wednesday Adler reeling from the tragic loss of her older brother, she has no choice but to try and fill the void he left behind, for the sake of her grieving parents.

However, the envy she used to possess for her brothers seemingly perfect life, has grown into resentment as living in his shoes has taken away all love for a sport that was once held close to her heart. Not only has she lost her joy of skating, but she no longer recognises herself in the mirror, having had to sacrifice everything that makes her Wednesday.

Just as she starts spinning out of control, Oliver Montgomery enters and flips her world upside down. The stereotypical 'bad boy' hockey player with secrets of his own is like a bucket of ice water being dumped on Wednesday's head. With her new eyes, she begins to imagine a world in which she is her own person again, not just a harbour for the ships of her parents broken dreams.
