Queen's 1982 'Hot Space' album, you either love it or love to hate it. Freddie Mercury can safely assume that the acerbic music critic from Rolling Stone magazine, Hayes Griffith, despises it. A particularly scathing review of 'Hot Space' provokes a meeting between the lively musician and cold critic. The result? A PR nightmare for both men. *** Characters are inspired by Queen. I do not own them, photos, or lyrics, used throughout the story.

"Can you sayyyyy... HELLO?" Freddie asked his daughter eagerly. She was so small seating on his chest, she weighed like a feather to him. "Yello..." Elle cried back. Alice leaned to the side of the door, a grin formed on her face. Freddie could command a stadium of 70,000 people but trying to get the attention of his daughter meant more to him. "Can you sayyyy... Elle Mercury!" Freddie said, his voice went high pitch. "Yelle Curry!" she cried back, repeating her father. Freddie laughed at his daughter, her cuteness was too much for him to handle. "Good morning you two," Alice approached both of them by the couch. Freddie looked to Alice, in her silk white pajamas. He lifted his legs so Alice would seat on the opposite side of the couch, and then rested it back to her thighs. "Morning mama, sayyy... Good morning mama..." Freddie urged on his daughter. "No!" she cried back. Alice pouted at Elle to show her jealousy, then she stroked Elle's back asking for her attention. Indeed, she had to admit, both father and daughter had a different connection. When its fun time its always Freddie but when its restless, hungry, sleepy time it would be her Elle would turn to. Freddie lifted himself up so Elle would stand on his thigh, then lifting her up to blow on her stomach making farting noises. Elle burst into laughter, her hand was resting on Freddie's hair, pulling it telling him to stop. Alice's heart fluttered. She thought of the conversation they had the night before, about adding another one so that Elle could grow up with someone. She wanted another one, but Freddie refused. The pregnancy with Elle was smooth-sailing, it was a beautiful experience, she had the pregnancy glow throughout. But giving birth to Elle was a terrible experience for both of them, she lost a lot of blood and had complications. Freddie was scared that he was going to lose her, and Elle, and it was something he did not want to risk going through again.
