The story took place 6 years after wei ying died.
After wei ying's death lan zhan went to everywhere wherever is chaos just to search for wei ying. One day on his way back from yiling he found a 3 years old boy.

Feeling pity for the boy, moreover the boy smiles exactly like his wei ying, lan zhan couldn't leave him there alone. So he bring him back to cloud recess with him. After so many pleading of him and his brother lan xichen , their uncle Lan Qiren allowed him to keep the boy.

**The story before wei ying's death is same as the original novel. Only difference is Jing ling was 8 when his parents died and suzui is not Wen. He was born Lan. His parents died when he was little.( I just couldn't imagine a story without our lovely juniors so I somehow managed their age and added them 😁😁)**

Lan Wangji has not spoken a single word in three years, not since the death of his parents. When he sees his childhood crush in front of him he wants to speak but cannot make himself do so. So he pulls Wei Wuxian into his arms and kisses him. Lan Haikuan never blamed his brother for being the reason he lost his parents but Wangji did.
