She doesn't back down, no matter how tough things get. At first, In-ho's interested because she could be useful, either as an ally or a threat. But the more he watches her, the harder it is to stay distant. Y/N makes it clear she doesn't need Young-il's protection. But as the games get worse, their paths keep crossing, and they start to form an uneasy alliance. In-ho finds himself drawn to her, even though he knows it's dangerous for both of them. Alluvion's Water Lily is loosely based on my BTS Fanfic Encoded in Our DNA. So, if you have read that you might see some similarities. It is mostly only based on the framework of the soulmate serum idea however. Meaning it is mostly its own original story. This story is a reverse harem. Meaning she will have a romantic relationship with five different men and won't have to choose between them.
