Audrey Van Der Woodsen never thought her life could change so drastically within a matter of days. But it did when she met Lillian Grey, dean of the Academy of Sorcery. Tragic events bring out Audrey's hidden magical powers and leaves her no choice but to go to the Academy. Audrey dreads it but soon learns she is the descendant of one of the four most powerful sorcerers and is the only one who can access a portal that separates our world and the ruins of a magical one. That makes her the most powerful and most wanted, therefor putting her life in more danger than ever. As she tries to manage her new powers and new friendships, she meets Rufus, another student and Lillian's son.
But meeting him doesn't make life at the Academy any more fun for Audrey. To do so, she takes advantage of the portal only she can access and travels between worlds. In that time she meets another boy Pano but finds that she made a stronger connection with him than anyone else she's met. Maybe it's because he's another powerful descendant or because Audrey has a piece of the dark side inside of her. None of that matters when dark forces arise, in search of Audrey and the destruction of the Academy. The portal separating both worlds is destined to be broken but it's up to Audrey and her friends to protect it no matter who they have to fight against. Even if it breaks hearts or bonds with people they thought they could trust.

The Wolf Witch

There is but one person who truly knows and loves her, but does he really? Magic is not the weapon of a warrior, magic is the weapon of a coward. Sora has been told that all her life, but she has magic within her, recently awakened, and so she has begun to doubt it. Still, witchcraft is punishable by death, and so Sora must be careful with her practices, lest she lose all she has. Sora is a better witch than wolf, though not by much, but she still pursues that craft in spite of the dangers. Her place in the world is a dangerous one, but will it last? The world she lives in is a dangerous one, and such a life as hers rarely ends happily. Disclaimer: this is a short prequel, Sora's story does not conclude with this one. If you finish this book and go "oh, that's the end?" it's because it's not the end. I'm writing a trilogy called Mortance that explores the larger world that this takes place in and concludes Sora's story more thoroughly than in this book. Disclaimer: this book is lgbtq friendly, and has more than one love interest. there is no love triangle, but there is a poly romance vibe. it is teen fiction, so it does not get explicit. There are mentions of past bullying (but again nothing too explicit), a near-death experience when a character nearly sacrifices themselves for the good fo the group, and isolation-related trauma. The main character does not participate in SH and there is no SA. Dianna is free. Finally. Now she just wants to stay that way. Dianna was born a Super in Carson City, one of the many independent cities in the confederation. Marked at birth with a power no one fully understood until it was too late, she ended up rotting in prison for crimes she never meant to commit. When a second chance arrives in the form of a transfer to a new City, Dianna is startled to realize just how different her new home is from the old.
