Audrey Van Der Woodsen never thought her life could change so drastically within a matter of days. But it did when she met Lillian Grey, dean of the Academy of Sorcery. Tragic events bring out Audrey's hidden magical powers and leaves her no choice but to go to the Academy. Audrey dreads it but soon learns she is the descendant of one of the four most powerful sorcerers and is the only one who can access a portal that separates our world and the ruins of a magical one. That makes her the most powerful and most wanted, therefor putting her life in more danger than ever. As she tries to manage her new powers and new friendships, she meets Rufus, another student and Lillian's son.
But meeting him doesn't make life at the Academy any more fun for Audrey. To do so, she takes advantage of the portal only she can access and travels between worlds. In that time she meets another boy Pano but finds that she made a stronger connection with him than anyone else she's met. Maybe it's because he's another powerful descendant or because Audrey has a piece of the dark side inside of her. None of that matters when dark forces arise, in search of Audrey and the destruction of the Academy. The portal separating both worlds is destined to be broken but it's up to Audrey and her friends to protect it no matter who they have to fight against. Even if it breaks hearts or bonds with people they thought they could trust.

Over FrogBottom's five-century existence, it has been the premiere destination for students interested in Witchcraft and Sorcery. The Vice Chancellor of this mystical University is completely evil, and unrepentantly so. However, whereas others in his lofty position might rely on the use of magic to achieve their despicable goals, the Vice Chancellor is more apt to release his brutal and scathing sarcasm to reduce his opponents to quivering jelly. The Vice Chancellor is using the University to eradicate the Art of Witchcraft, leaving sorcerers to dominate forever. He is aided in this goal by a prophecy, foreseeing that a sorcery student will arrive and ensure victory for their kind. When the student never gets off the train the Vice Chancellor pulls out all the stops in his attempt to locate the truant student. Priti no sooner comes to grips with the fact that she is actually attending classes in witchcraft, than she suddenly finds out her classes are not teaching any witchcraft at all. On top of this, she and her sister witches are the only ones who have figured out that the prophecy refers to Priti, not a sorcery student at all! The conspiracy against witches revealed, Priti sets out to right all wrongs, hampered only slightly by the Vice Chancellor's repeated attempts to murder her. Disclaimer: this book is lgbtq friendly, and has more than one love interest. there is no love triangle, but there is a poly romance vibe. it is teen fiction, so it does not get explicit.
