Everything changes when a shooting star lands on a planet with a broken moon Remnant has always imagined about their first encounter with the extraterrestrial, but they didn't expect their first meeting to be with an AI from beyond the stars. - Crossposted on Fanfiction Net! - [SOME KNOWLEDGE OF THE GAME MINDUSTRY IS NEEDED HERE. So go download and play it now! it'll explain most of the stuff here] After reconquering and driving the last of the Crux away from Serpulo, the Sharded's only AI has finally constructed the Interplanetary Accelerator, a massive railgun tower of sorts that the Crux once used to launch their cores into outer space. Now armed with most of the knowledge of their predecessors, they set off to land on either their local planets, Erekir or Tantros, or even their local asteroid belts. What the Sharded AI didn't expect was that the Interplanetary Accelerator would send them to somewhere far off into outer space, to the point where they're unable to connect or even return to their home planet. It didn't help that they've also landed on a cold sector of another far flung planet somewhere in the cosmos What the Sharded AI ALSO didn't expect is that this planet in particular.. had life. A ecosystem that their home planet once had before the Spore infestation robbed it away from them. but they won't be alone with their first contact, and sooner or later their past or new enemies will also land with them, and they will change the tides of war as they please. [Mindustry by Anuke and RWBY by Rooster Teeth] This is actually my first time writing a story about RWBY so don't expect much lore-accurate or story-accurate details here and there, but I may do my research here and there. NOTICE: From chapter 29 (which will release on 31/10/24, 12pm AEST) on to the rest of the fanfic, things are gonna be ridiculously more complicated. Also there's gonna be a lot more Doctor Who, Dragon Ball, Alien, Helldivers, Guardians of the Galaxy and other sci-fi bullshit from then on. In a galaxy fractured by power struggles and uneasy alliances, old empires, corporate titans, and alien factions vie for dominance over uncharted worlds and forgotten technologies. With the Citadel Council acting as the tenuous anchor of peace, threats lurk in the shadows-mercenary groups carve out criminal empires, rogue factions from the outer systems gather strength, and scavengers race to uncover ancient artifacts that could change the balance of power forever. Amid this chaotic landscape, whispers of hidden vaults and lost civilizations ignite a galactic gold rush, drawing treasure hunters, bounty seekers, and soldiers of fortune to the edges of known space. At the heart of it is our crew. Led by two seasoned warriors with a shared history they don't fully understand, the crew finds themselves drawn into dangerous missions that stretch their skills-and their morals-to the breaking point. In a universe where victory often comes at a price and peace is always temporary, the crew must decide what truly matters-loyalty, freedom, or the power to control their own fate (to be blunt, it's freedom). [TO BE CONTINUED] STORY ARCS Pre-Reset Arc - COMPLETE (Chapters 1-23) Anomalies Arc - CURRENT (Chapters 24-) Cover by @devarsh_yagnik NOTE: This work contains some semi-graphic depictions of violence on a TV-MA (ACB MA15+) and infrequent explicit language on a TV-14 (ACB M) level.

Project HALO by CGjorgensen
59 parts Complete
PROJECT HALO is a YA sci-fi thriller taking place in near-future Norway. It has speculative elements and will appeal to fans of dystopian works such as DIVERGENT, THE MAZE RUNNER, LEGEND, and BLACK MIRROR. All seventeen-year-old Charlie Walker wants is to be free of his father's stupid expectations. Stay in school? No thanks. Get a job? Nope. Stop cursing? Hell no. But if he knew his petty rebellion would result in his own kidnapping, he might've reconsidered. When Charlie wakes up at Norway's largest intelligence agency, the NIC, with a biochip in his brain, he faces problems bigger than his father's disapproval. Charlie is their first successful experiment, and when activated, the chip will give the agency unbarred access to his vital signs and location. So much for freedom. But before his biochip can be activated, a rogue doctor offers Charlie a chance to escape. In return, he has to find and keep a flash drive hidden from the NIC. At first, agreeing to the deal seems obvious. But when NIC sends agents to hunt Charlie down, he realizes the flash drive might be more important than he thought. He's faced with an ultimatum: hand over the flash drive, or a lethal virus will be released onto the population. If he obliges, his chip will be activated and he'll lose his freedom forever. If he doesn't, people will die-including his ex-friend-who-he-totally-still-hates. Including the charming hacker he has a crush on. Including his demanding father. Including himself. In a race against time and his own selfish thoughts, Charlie must decide who to trust with his deadly secret-and exactly how far he's willing to go in the name of freedom. - - - Trigger warnings: Death and dying, blood, swearing, syringes/needles, hospitals, alcoholism, anger issues, nightmares, kidnapping, being drugged against one's will, suicide mention, terrorism/terror attacks, guns/weapons.
