It was hot. The type of hot that was sticky and uncomfortable and made it seem like everything was covered in a thin layer of wet. Outside, the cicadas screeching drowned out any other noise.

If there is anyone who will read this, I want to preface by saying this is a VENT FIC for my depression, so there will be some major allusions and/or major displays of depression in this work. So, MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING for anyone who is sensitive to reading substance of that sort. Please take caution. Also, any displays of depression are from my own experiences and are by no means how depression manifests for anyone with the illness.

(A/N: This is essentially going to be a process of fixing + improving Lean on Us, a pre-existing fic on my page, as I'm not too happy with how it came out as the years go by. As this happens, (Y/N) transfers into Marinette's class upon being adopted by their uncle due to the sudden death of their parents. (Y/N) is still moving on and dealing with the repercussions of their mother and father's passing when Juleka introduces (Y/N) to Luka at their band rehearsal. They form a strong bond and become fast friends- and quickly become something more- but how much more can they be in the chaos of suddenly becoming a hero on top of that? Adrien was a good boyfriend. He listened to what Marinette said about Luka and tried his best to keep his distance, ignoring what was becoming a wonderful friendship. After a series of unfortunate events, he finds himself single and gets a second chance at a real friend from (Y/N), much to Luka's dismay. What happens when this certain blond is thrown into the mix?
