In 2014, Liv, Bridgett, and Ellie travel to meet Echo. While they are there, they go to an old library that had been marked at hazardous and had signs saying do not enter. Of course, curiosity takes over the best of them and they go in to investigate. Inside they find four items, strangely matching up to their personalities. Each item is found in a different spot, in different books, all with blank pages that will fill themselves out as they discover more about the society and the items they found. The items and the books help them discover a secret society called Tenebris that is hunting for ways to open new universes and take over, ruling all the universes as one dictated government. The society is made up of cruel, twisted, evil people that will kill anyone in the way of their devilish plan to take over. Once the books are filled out completely, a gateway to the In Between is opened, giving the girls the answers on how to stop the evil society from taking over life-kind.
