At 17 years old I, Tyler Brooks had been to 5 foster homes
and not including the one that I was heading
to at the moment. All the homes that I had been to were all the same. They
filled were filled with a bunch of snooty people with club memberships that
cost more than the average home. They were all filled with a bunch of uptight
people that wanted to show off to their friends that they were “loving family”
that welcomed their home to anyone. Anyone, especially that one kid with crazy
colored hair, tattoos and gothic clothes. These were the type of people that
always wanted to adopt the, how had my case worker called it, “trouble youth”.

When you're young, you think you know it all. When you go through foster care, You have to grow up fast. Meet an 8-year-old boy who thought he knew it all. He just wanted to grow up as fast as possible to escape all the "care" he was forced to have. But when a family finds out about his past, they want to help him in any way they can. In this case, letting him be a little kid again, letting him feel safe while being himself. This story is about his first days in his new foster home and gives a little glimpse of what happens when you don't let the outside world dictate what is right or wrong.

"I don't even know your names." "Fine. I'm Marcus, that's Peyton, Luke, and Aaliyah," he answered, gesturing toward each of us as he spoke. I could tell he didn't trust the guy, but he seemed good enough. He hadn't said anything to make us distrust him, but he also hadn't said anything to make us trust him. Two Trouble makers, have finally fully pissed off not only all their teachers but their parents too. In total that only equaled one thing... Boarding school... Not in the shitty part of Denver but the nice part of Denver. Finney Blake. A typical seventeen year old boy... Besides the fact that he attempted to burn down the school twice, smokes a lot, and loves to annoy the crap out of his teachers and dad. I'm Finn Vasco but that's not quite important right now. I'm a pretty sarcastic guy if I'm gonna be honest. I'm closed off and I literally only have one friend. Her parents are Catholic, so they see her normal teen behavior as acting out beyond reason and continuously look for somewhere she can be 'fixed'. Her therapist suggested a place that looked like camp. Two strangers come get her in the middle of the night and bring her to the worst place she has ever been to in her life. When she comes back to live with her best friend, she is nothing like she was when she left, but he promised he'd wait for her.
