24hour adventure borneo river romance

Synopsis time: 
In Sintang Borneo a new Host Lara Michaels who's doing a documentary on the wildlife of Southeast Asia. One of the last animals in the documentary is a river dolphin that has moved deep in the Kapuas river. Problem is the river has been getting hit by crazy storms and every other riverboat captain says "There's no one dumb enough to battle the Kapuas in the wet season with the extreme weather and come back alive." No one except for a Canadian fisherman and riverboat Captain, John 'Buck' Benson. With no other option she tracks down the her last option, a man most known for being a 'sarcastic cockroach' and getting into bar fights.
Story time:
I've been writing for a few years and I am by no means a good writer. My strengths are telling a story and making characters. I've only worked in either horror and action. Now the reason I'm writing a short romance story is very simple. While watching this years Hallmark Christmas movies with my mates I made a bet that I could write a better short romance story in a day, and have a better romance even with a short deadline and a short stories length to build the characters. At first I was going to do it all in one big sitting but after my first attempt in 3:33:12 sucked I started completely over and have been doing this over a few days while keeping track of a 24 hour timer. This will also be the first story on here because Instead of just keeping this thing with me and my mates why not share to the world what a mediocre writer of horror/action can write in 24 hours in a genre he's never done before. At first it seemed like I would have been able to finish with maybe a little less time to edit but enough to still be thorough. Turns out I had enough time to make sure everything was spelt rightish. I still haven't read it over and wont until its posted so there's probably an awkward 180 from one of the few times I changed the story and forgot to go back and fix it... Sooo enjoy.All Rights Reserved

This year was supposed to be simple: survive the rest of high school, save up as much money as possible, move back to California and become roommates with Stacey. Gripping the cushion of my seat I glanced from my phone to different spots around me. It had been more than half an hour since I had sent the text to the group chat. No one had called me or texted me and I could feel my hopes being crushed. Here I thought this small group of people actually cared about me. I should have known better. Minutes later Josh emerged and leaned against the door frame. He smiled at me and I felt something flip inside my rib cage. My mind couldn't figure out why Josh's presence affected my heart beat. When he appeared my hands became sweaty and my stomach fluttered. "Ready?" He asked in a velvet tone. Crossing my arms over my chest I raised an eyebrow at him. Where exactly had he brought us to?"Follow me," he left the frame of the door and I followed him. What happens on this hunting trip changes his path in life forever. Sidney POV When I first had the idea for this story, I pictured a bear attacking Sidney. But doing research I found that bears are not common wild animals in England. I'm American and live in a state where bears are common. In doing research, I found that in the regency era there were wild cats that were referred to as phantom cats, panthers, jaguars, or leopards. Although, some accounts claim there is no such thing and stories were exaggerated. Anyway, for story purposes, this phantom cat exists. I know it may not sound realistic, but as I said before, there were stories about these wild cats in some of my research. I also came across stories of the aristocratic and higher class bringing these exotic animals to England to show off and look grander to others. It reminded me of someone purchasing a dog as a puppy, thinking it'll be great. Then months later realizing these cute puppies grow up and destroy your home and chew everything up. I pictured a rich woman insisting she have one of these pure black cats on one of her many voyages to far off lands and her rich husband buying her the exotic animal. Then as this cat grew and suddenly the realization that it's a wild animal and could potentially kill someone, these high society people may just decide to let the animal go in the woods to fend for himself. Now this cat is alone in a land he doesn't belong and trying to survive, perhaps resenting man for the cruel way he was treated. Now I feel sorry for the panther. Anyway, that's the backstory on the panther and why it may be in a place it's not supposed to be.

Little that she doesn't know, her brother try to get rid of her due to envy. He was younger than her. Lucia was being appointed to become the next queen for the kingdom. The royal guards ambushed the princess and took her away to the witch's house near the ocean. The two white witches agreed to help the princess for her desperate plea to return to her home castle. And stop her brother for his act of disposing his only twin sibling. The two white witches told her to take a swim in the sea before leaving. Before Lucia tries to get out of the water, she was suddenly transformed into a mermaid by the two white witches. There are two ways to break the spell before her time is up by the next month. If Lucia gets a kiss by the merman, she'll be a mermaid for all eternity. If the princess gets a kiss from the prince on land, she will be human again. If not, she will be lost in the world of water. Will Lucia see her family again as a mermaid? How is she going to reach them if she can't swim as a mermaid? Princess Lucia was new to be a mermaid. She has a long way to see her pink tail fin works in the ocean floor.
