Beep... Beep... Beep...
The sound of the vital signs monitor was all that could be heard inside the darkly lit desolate cold room. A girl was lying at the bed motionlessly and her dark pupils were seemingly staring at the abyss of nothingness with no life. She had elegant black hair scattered at her back, white skin that is even paler because of her weak constitution.
'When can I die?' She thought to herself repeatedly with no end.
'Why am I so unlucky to end up like this? Since the beginning, I was very weak compared to other children my age... My only happiness during all this time in my 18 years of life is reading and writing romance novels. The only obstacle is my weak body, even the hired doctors and my family gave up on me... They only waited for me to pass away and to lessen their burdens. Hah...'
Beep...... Beep......
The sound of the vital signs monitor suddenly became slower than usual. Hearing the sound's sudden change, the girl widened her eyes. She stood up and suddenly clenched her chest and gripped her hair and gasped for breath.
"Huff... huff...."
'Augh... it hurts.... everywhere hurts...hmmm..... there is no one here... well, they don't even care about me.... augh..... I guess this is the way I'll die...'
"Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep............"
She fell down her bed with her eyes closed, her face became rather peaceful. Her hair was scattered on the bed everywhere. Those were her last thoughts before finally going to the afterlife.

"My poor child, but don't worry, I'll be giving you a new life and a gift. I hope you will like them."
'What... wait!!'
I couldn't even finish what I wanted to say. A new life, a new me, friends, and a new family that will love me, huh... Love... I wish I could know how it feels to be loved by others... And I would also love and cherish them... What will happen in this new life of mine?

She had been alone with me before but the air in the car was excruciatingly lovely. It felt like home. It was as if she was my wife and I was just driving us home after a long day. At the same time, it felt like I couldn't breathe. For fucks sake, my chest was sweating, but I loved it.
