Years after Pitch Black's fall, fear has risen yet again, the Guardians and the Big 4 are confused as to why and how fear is back and to who is helping him get back. Their questions was soon answered by Manny; the Man in the Moon, as he chose a new guardian.

Now the guardians and the big 4 are on an adventure to find the new chosen guardian and defeat Pitch Black and his companion once and for all
