☆On the outside, Keiji Akaashi looks like a quiet boy who concentrates on school, plays volleyball on the side and has high goals for his future. 
But that is only the side he shows. 

The truth is that his father is a drug addict, Akaashi himself suffers from depression and panic attacks. When he starts the first year at Fukurodani, he meets and befriends the ace of the volleyball team, Kotaro Bokuto. Just when it seems he has become accustomed to his father's outbursts as well as punishments, the usually outspoken Bokuto, as well as the entire team, begins to hide something from him. 

Akaashi's world falls apart more and more as he begins to doubt himself and his life goes further and further down the drain.
