In the year 2499, only a small part of the world is inhabited after a great war. This inhabited part, Pretoria, is securely surrounded by a concrete wall to keep out the rubble and remnants from the war, and to seclude dangerous prisoners.
Joan, the daughter of such a 'dangerous' prisoner, one day escapes the prison. When she enters the big bad world behind the wall, she finds out the worlds is indeed as bad as she predicted. A world controlled by money and power, and served by androids that look awfully real.
Joshua Smith, a handsome and mysterious inhabitant of the capitalistic world, crosses paths with the escaped 18-year-old and takes her in. Despite being standoffish and cold-hearted, Joan makes Joshua's heart warm. Well, maybe. What she definitely does, is turn his eyes yellow.
The 21 is a harmonious mix of sci-fi, mystery, romance and fantasy. The story revolves around four very different characters, whose lives will blend, leading to surprising and shocking revelations about their Perfect World.
