danielle murphy has the summer life people would kill for, yet she's so unsatisfied with it. year after year she retreats to her cape cod town home and wastes away her summer. this year she is doing what she promised herself she wouldn't, becoming one of the prissy little lifegaurds, minus the prissy and the shredded beach bodies. although dan dreads the idea of lifegaurding, her opinion on it is quickly swayed by a handsome brunette boy who happens to be her new coworker. together they spend summer of junior year in ways that will never and should never be spoken to anybody. ever
