Lance's family owns a library and Lance helps out a lot, and when business is slow he reads. He also reads in his spare time so he has read around half the library.

When a grumpy black-haired boy his age starts browsing the fantasy sections (which lance religiously read after he finished all the sci-fi) Lance can't help but offer his help, hovering around the boy and giving recommendations.

That's where it all started.
