"Yeah, seriously. Listen to Pengwen and get it off the table. We're eating here," Steve says with a mouthful of pudding. 

Gwen looks at Steve with furrowed brows. "Penguin?" 

Steve pauses with his spoon mid air and looks at the girl. "Yeah. Pengwen," He drops the spoon and lifts his left hand. "Penguin," Then he lifts his right hand. "Gwen," He slaps his hands together. "Pengwen," He smiles. 

"I kind of hate it," She smiles. 

Steve shrugs. "Well, I could switch it out with 'Gwenny', 'Wendy'..."

Gwen stops him, holding her hands up with wide eyes. "Okay, stop,"

Steve puts his index finger in the air like he's just had a revolutionary idea. "Oooh, how about 'Gwenola'?" He raises his eye brows for emphasis. 

"'Pengwen'. 'Pengwen' is fine," Gwen chuckles. 

Steve smiles. "Good to know!"

Gwen Henderson was given another chance at life when she was 13 years old. Adopted by Claudia Henderson, she was finally able to be a somewhat normal teenager. 

She had a loving family, an annoyingly adorable little brother, and a fresh reputation at school. She seemed to get on with the new lifestyle great as well. She got along with the small family, and even got along with her adoptive brothers friends. 

And although this may sound great to any other normal teen, Gwen was still ridden with the trauma and guilt of her past. Sleepless nights were a common occurrence, as were the nightmares that had her jolting up in bed, drenched in sweat with a scream. 

Even given the chance of a new life, her past seemed to follow her everywhere she went.

Maybe Will would wake up and come up to her bedroom, rubbing his eyes and asking what the hell she was doing up. Maybe it would be Jonathan instead, coming to check on her, only to roll his eyes and understand exactly what she was doing out of bed this late as soon as he caught sight of her boots in her hands. Maybe it would've been her mom instead, barging into the room with wide eyes and a worried tone as she fussed over her daughter to make sure she was okay and probably mistaking the hickey in her neck with a wound of some kind. But, instead, no one came and, as much as Shelley found it weird, she knew it was already three in the morning, so everyone was probably asleep. Which, by the way, she should be too. So, instead of worrying, Shelley decided to just drop her boots by the bed and change from the rather pretty dress she had decided to surprise Steve in into some of his old clothes she still had laying around before climbing into the bed and tucking herself in. After all, considering she had a Chemistry test tomorrow - or rather, later today -, it would be better for her to get as much sleep as she possibly could. (please understand that this is not edited and is my first book that I wrote a long time ago) Y/n Henderson is Dustin's older sister (adopted sister) and Steve Harrington's Best friend...a failed assignment, 003 When she escaped this lab in Hawkins Indiana, when she was only 9 years old, Dustin's mom found her and adopted her. Made her a Henderson. When her brother was 10, she showed him something that she didn't like using but she didn't want to keep her secret from him. He was her brother. Y/n met Steve Harrington when they were 14 and in 8th grade, ever since they were inseparable. All though, once they reached 10th grade they became friends with Tommy and Carol. Y/n didn't like them, they were rude, disrespectful, and disgusting. But Steve was friends with them so she was to. But that year Steve changed and became the king or Hawkins high. They stayed friends of course. Y/n just didn't agree with him all the time. Junior year Steve started dating Nancy Wheeler. Y/n was jealous but she respected his Decision.
