Wren's world is turned upside down when she meets Max, the newest trainee at the local coffee house, and suddenly finds herself unable to ignore his irresistible charm and swoon worthy brown eyes. It's quickly discovered that Wren's birthmark, a beautiful magnolia flower, is proof that she's the rightful heir to the throne in the Kingdom of Astrida. The only problem is that the kingdom is in another realm, and Max is the only person who can take her there. Upon her arrival, she learns the shocking truths behind the evils that threaten their land.

The Kingdom of Astrida has made enemies of the Drekkans, a choice that might come back to haunt them. The Drekkans are led by the wicked King Cyrus, and any chance of the kingdom's survival lies in the hands of his son, Prince Levy. The dark, mysterious prince strives for peace in every part of life, but begins to realize that the only way to attain it is with the help of an unlikely ally.

In the Mark of Magnolia, Wren uncovers all of the hidden secrets behind her true heritage. Through the confusion of navigating a magical new world, she finds within herself an abundance of strength and power that she never knew existed, and experiences the tantalizing feelings of love and the shocking sting of betrayal that leaves her unsure if there is anyone she can trust.
