The Dark Road Ahead

14 parts Ongoing Mature

"Devote your kin in our name, for those who do so, will have their seats above all others in the higher planes." These were the last transcribed words of the gods once they ascended back to the heavens after declaring their victory against the evil Ancients. But not before bestowing a parting gift upon humanity as gratitude for their devotion and sacrifice. Beucara. A power to topple the powerful. A strength to challenge the wrath of storms. "Fear not the wrath of gods but the man with the power of one, for the gods are just." Centuries have passed since the gods have departed. Rafik a young scholar finds himself on the run from numerous assassins and ungodly beings sent out by the Insurrection, in order to protect the son of his precious friend and his wonderful gift from falling into the wrong hands. The path ahead of them lies treacherous as he will have to navigate around unruly men, ferocious beasts, discarded soldiers of the gods, ancient eldritch gods and demons that lavish in emotions. Cling to your instincts and abandon all desire, for those who pursue their tale are scarcely safe from the falsehoods of the world.
