Zeynep, if that is even her real name, doesn't know who she is or where she came from. Her memories were lost during a train accident that claimed the life of the man, Mehmet, that she had supposedly just married. Mehmet's mother, torn by the grief of losing her eldest son, takes Zeynep into their home and lives, desperate to cling to the last connection that they have left to their son.
Zeynep tries her best to fit into the new life that she finds herself in, with no memory to fall back on. Her struggles are made harder by the arrival of Ayaz, the sole remaining son who is suspicious of the beautiful redhead that has won his mother's heart.
As Zeynep struggles with her loss of memories and adapting to her new way of life, Ayaz's constant watch confuses and unnerves her.
But Ayaz is the least of Zeynep's concerns, recurring nightmares and outsiders persist to make her small, quiet life more complicated than it should be.
Can she find allies to help her navigate this strange new world? Or is she, and everyone around her destined to be no more than strangers.
When she is only 19, her biggest supporter - her mother - finds out she is sick. Zeynep works in three places at once to earn money for her mother's treatment. When she realizes that the money she earns will not save her mother, Zeynep is forced to make a decision that will change her forever. She accepts Mehdi's offer - a foreman at the neighborhood car service - and marries him on the condition that he pays for her mother's treatment. After four years of marriage, Zeynep is no longer the same. She has not seen her mother for two years, has no friends and rarely leaves the home where she lives with her husband.
