19-year old Tala comes from a long line of Diwata, Filipino deities, but she has long been out of that world, hiding out in a small apartment downtown Toronto, trying to be as normal as possible. Slowly dying from unuse of her powers, she's given one last mission in exchange for her chance to live: kill the heir of the Philippines' most feared demon (aswang) family who just so happens to be hiding out in the university nearby.

Next in line to a political dynasty in the Philippines and prepped to take over his family's reign of terror, Tala must kill the boy before he turns 20 and becomes a vessel for the devil himself. All she has to do is stab a dagger through his heart. Easy enough. But what happens when the demon-heir isn't actually as evil as she expected? When she comes face to face with his heart, will she actually be willing to take it?
