I jump to my feet and scan the room, only to discover Emily being carried away by this 6-foot-tall demon-like creature. He had black horns with white markings that bent at the end, and it had boney, crimson wings that spanned about two feet. He also had a muscular reddish physique with white dots all over.
I ran over to Emily and began tugging on her arms, but the creature was much stronger , I tugged and tugged, watching Emily's eyes well up with tears.
"Give me back my sister you asshole!" I scream as I continue to pull and pull.
Then I hear a door slam open, and I turn around to see my father standing there, motionless, watching me fight this beast.
As I'm caught off guard, I lose my grip on Emily, and she breaks away from me.
"NO!" I shout.
I rush out the window and chase them down. I run and run trying to reach Emily, but I couldn't
The creature turns to me holding Emily in his arms with his hand over her mouth, tears falling down her face.
I drop to my knees, breathless. As the monster flies away with Emily, terror in her eyes, I remain paralyzed. I fee shame, why couldn't I save her? I was right there with her, holding her in my arms.

The whole camp was filling with smoke. I coughed, praying that my lungs would keep working for just a few more minutes. "Eli, which way is west?" Adam's breathing was just as labored from physical exertion, smoke, and panic as mine was. I didn't even process the question. I didn't know. We couldn't see anything through the smoke because the fire was spreading so quickly, and I just realized I'd forgotten my walkie-talkie. "Don't know!" I answered. Adrenaline was the only thing that kept my feet going. I knew we'd come in the East Gate, and if the cells were in the center, then if we kept going straight, we were going to find the gate any second. "Keep straight!" I instructed. I saw his head bob slightly, acknowledging my delayed direction. Then Adam cried out beside me, and I stopped short. I reached for his body involuntarily as he pitched forward, nearly causing him to take me down with him. My left hand was soaking wet from where it had landed on his shoulder. I don't know how long I stayed there, kneeling to the ground and staring at my parents' corpses. Their blood stained most of my body as I rubbed my face trying to get it off. I furrow my eyebrows as I notice the drops of blood on the ground, not knowing if those were from my tears or injuries. The others have managed to distract them enough from hurting me, but I can't seem to get up and leave my parents alone. I hiccup as I look over to where the monsters that killed my parents are standing. My heart drops and my eyes widen as I see a familiar little girl with strawberry blonde hair being restrained.
