This is just a super indulgent self insert fic in an AU where the events of Homestuck don't take place and the Alternian kids go off to become the adults they would have been if they never found SGrub.

    Torvis Fossor is a young highblood on the cusp of adulthood who leaves behind his home planet and moirail, Cesare, to follow his dreams and board the Holy Fleet. He has no real interest in the empires plan for galactic domination, but he dreams one day of becoming the next Grand Highblood and the power that comes with the title. He doesn't quite understand the concept of 'family' that is ever present in the scriptures he reads, but family he finds nonetheless. Shortly after boarding The Dark Carnival, the primary ship of the Holy Fleet, he meets Gamzee, a young man not much older than himself, and, as if commanded by the messiahs themselves, he feels compelled to serve him in any ways he deems appropriate.
