Dowager Countess of Hexham, Charlotte Crawley - Wroughton has found herself in a most unfortunate position. Having being happily widowed for two years, a distant cousin of her late husband has come to claim his inheritance, ousting her from her marital home. If anything, a woman had to be practical - happiness was not one's main concern after all, when it came down to it.
