❝We shouldn't try to figure out every single thing in the world. Why does this happen, how does it happen? Why can't we just be content with being? Instead, the way our eye perceives color is explained, and how Earth was first formed, and everything. We fill ourselves with knowledge so much that something has to be emptied in order to make room for knowledge. So, our soul is poured out. Our appreciation for natural things are gone, thrown away. Our thirst for knowledge overcomes us. The world is a perplexity, let it stay like that. It's more beautiful that way.❞ We were made to live, not to observe. Marley Aspen knows first-hand what it's like to just get by, but to live, that's far out of her reach. Well, that is until befriending the new-girl, Sierra Ryder, shows her how to. But in unexpected twists and turns, Marley learns there is always more underneath the surface, and she gets more than she bargained for. Cover by: @leena-j

Completed✔️ Disclaimer: I wrote this when I was 15 so it is a bit cliché, and many mistakes in the story:) All Brooklyn's life, she's been more of a boy than a girl. She's only ever lived with her single dad and her three older brothers, which means she was bound to grow up more like them. So, when she moved all the way from New York to Tennessee, it wasn't much of a surprise until she met Alex, the one of many popular boys at the high school. Until she realized that Alex decided to make her life a living hell. Well, that's what Brooklyn thought, at least... ___ "He leaned in and put a hand behind my head to kiss me, leaving me frozen and speechless. Almost instinctively, after a moment of processing, I stood on my tippy toes and replaced my fingers in his hair, my other hand on his neck. Butterflies exploded in my stomach, replacing my hunger for food, as he pressed me against a vacant wall. Without a word, he lifted me up while my legs wrapped around his waist, leaning in closer to him, even after there was no more space to fill."
