Due to the pandemic, the mental health of every person has been affected significantly. The pandemic had a detrimental effect on the minds of the athletes. With the lack of training and sporting activities, the athletes thought that their identity was being lost. Mental health plays a vital role in the well being of an individual. Since the beginning, the importance of mental health has been undermined. Mental and physical fitness are equally important. The two are interlinked and go hand in hand.
Every individual needs to possess a working knowledge of mental health. It is rightly said," It is okay not be okay." Athletes like Naomi Osaka and Simone Biles addressed their mental health issues on the biggest sporting stage( Olympics 2020). Awareness regarding the mental health needs to be generated. It is the need of the hour and needs to be acted upon with immediate effect.
