Dusty Petals and Blunt Thorns

'I am a dusty petal
and you are a blunt thorn
i was once so vibrant
and full of life,
and you were once so sharp
and cold,
but i broke down that barrier and now you are a new person, a better one.
but it has taken all of the energy and soul out of me.
while i was being the remedy to your cold front,
you failed to realise
that it has worn me down
into a different person
completely.
i suppose we changed each other.'
