Weeping void

A king returns to his fallen kingdom and reunites with the freed vessel. Together, they are forced to undergo a few challenges at the hands of an angered higher being. As the flames curl, so too do the curtains, drawing away to reveal the weeping void.

okay, so this is all an au. This takes place after the radiance is banished, and only two vessels survived, seeing as the radiance infection was the only thing sustaining broken vessel and lost kin. While vessel's don't have voices or mouths, they can transfer their thoughts into echoes that are interpreted as words. They echo through the vessel's horns, the longer/bigger their horns are, the louder their "voice" can get. Vessels express themselves through closing their eye holes and purring. Those left in the abyss have stunted growth. Some of the vessel's are born with the monarch wings while others have to earn them. Ghost acts like a child because they are physically and mentally a child, although they are slightly smarter than an average five year old. Vessels can transfer soul to other vessels of the same genetics, but it's very tedious and tends to put the vessel into a vulnerable state. (more will be revealed in the book)
