“Here's a news flash: No soldier gives his life. That's not the way it works. Most soldiers who make a
conscious decision to place themselves in harm's way do it to protect their
buddies. They do it because of the bonds of friendship - and it goes so much
deeper than friendship.” –Eric Massa

Harry had always pretty much planned on going to war and following in his father's footsteps and making his family proud. He was not prepared, however, for what awaited him there, and for just how different everything would be once he got back home.

Ashley never planned for her life to turn out the way that it did. With the man who loved her and the one whom she loved, she never expected any of this to happen. Then again, you never expect the world to turn out the way it does when you're the girl who's always expecting the fairy tale ending.
