Let's get this clear; I am not Clementine Ross. I was not her sister, or her best friend in the world, or even a person that she opened up to completely when she was devastatingly drunk one night. Clementine is a Young Adult novel based around the death of a local teenage girl, Clementine Ross, in the small town of Crimson Valley. The story is told and narrated from the point of view of Samantha Hall, who claims to have never really known Clementine, but sees it as her duty to tell the girl's story. As time progresses, it becomes clear that not only is Sam much more involved with Clementine's death than initially believed, but that her own story plays an essential part in the other girl's. By retelling the events that lead to the night of the accident, Sam uncovers truths buried in her own backyard, and begins to understand that perhaps the quiet town of Crimson Valley is a dangerous place to make a sound.
