There used to be two guardian deities watching over the peninsula: the Goddess of War and Victory Ha'an, clad in wrought iron armor with long flowing blazing red hair, the embodiment of destruction and martial prowess; and Davar, the God of Family and Peace, who wreathed himself in dull brown rags and spoke only of peace and prosperity to all who would listen. Three hundred years ago, greed-driven humans, dwarves and elves, fed up with Davar's teachings of peace and his restrictions on pillaging and conquests, took it upon themselves to rid the lands of Davar. They waited for the winter solstice, when Davar would be at his weakest and lured him down from the heavens asking for a sermon on peace. They claimed that they had forsaken war and laid down their weapons, splaying broken swords and spears before Davar's feet.
