Sophia is a soap actress and engaged to a man called George who supposedly supported her throughout her whole journey of becoming deaf after an accident halfway through their relationship. According to the media he is a hero for giving her the support that he does after such a life changing incident. However, when Sophia jumps at the chance to join the television show Celebrities Go Dancing, she discovers that the support she was getting was nowhere near as much as what someone else could provide her with. 

Throughout Sophia's journey on the show and as she gets to know her dance partner, she learns that her fiancé isn't the man she once believed him to be. Pietro helps her to build her confidence whereas George only helped build up her self-doubt. 

As their journey on the show comes to an end and a  forbidden love becomes exposed, the media sees a thin veil of the truth. Creating further issues for either side. Heartbreak and betrayal  is issued on the front of every national newspaper, but what is the truth to the story? Why had Sophia's pleas for help fallen upon deaf ears?
