Daniel Willis has always longed to become a knight and serve his king, King Alaric. When he becomes the Princess Isabella's knight, he is ripped away from the life of his childhood and begins one of solitude, until the King declares that Daniel Willis is to be married to his daughter. Panicked, Daniel is almost glad he is sent to a neighbouring kingdom as a part of a peace treaty, right into the hands of their King and more importantly, his son, the Prince of Elifshin. Can Daniel keep to the promises of his arranged marriage, or does he choose love over duty? And what will the King do if he gets word of his betrayal?

Tolcan is a prince in title only. Harlot is more accurate. While his twin brother is throwing extravagant parties, Tolcan is drinking with the lower class and sleeping with a variety of women. But one nomad, named Ki, has caught his interest. A royal with a nomad is rarely done, but a prince falling for a man is unheard of in Sarid. Ki is a threaten the royal bloodline which is the source to the magic that powers the barrier that surrounds the kingdom. If the king were to discover that his son is involved with a man, he could order Ki to be imprisoned or even killed. Tolcan has to keep the relationship hidden even though he may not even be the next king. It is law for there to be only one prince, but with twin boys, the king must choose who will be his heir. Thankfully for Tolcan, it's been clear for years that his father favors his brother, Albern. Rather than fight for the king's attention, Tolcan embraces his position at the extra prince. But Albern's magic is limited while Tolcan's excels. The king is the main source of magic so King Elroy isn't going to hand over his crown until he gets exactly who he wants.
