Before Smaug attacked Erebor Thorin married his one Lavina. However when Smaug attacked husband and wife were seperated when Thorin sends Lavina and his sister Dis to the Iron Hills. On the way there they are attacked by Orcs where Lavina is captured and taken away.
70 years later Thorin, with the company of 12 other dwarfs, 1 hobbit and 1 wizard, sets out to reclaim his homeland and on the way finds something unexpected.
