"Does the idea of life after death fascinate you, child?"

His hands were dancing along the strings of the violin tuning the instrument till it made a shriek as the bow slid down the strings. I watched, hands behind my back. I bit my lip and faced the archangel in front of me. The way the bow gleamed against the light. I knew what he was proposing for me.

Hiding in a realm of pain and hurt, he was the only one who truly brought mercy to those in agony. I looked up at him, as if I was being judged, the small tremors of words resounding around the room, telling me that they would find another principality, that Sarvente would easily take me into. But I had already made up my mind.

I placed my hand to my heart and kneeled down.

"I choose to accept the grace and mercy of my archangel."

He smiled. The devil himself couldn't have crafted a more wicked grin. "What do you say we play a game, little Reaper?" I narrowed my eyes, trying to decipher his intentions. "What kind of game?" His grin widened, showing the tips of his fangs. I watched the prince curiously as he strode over to his bag. With a swift motion, he withdrew a bow and a quiver of arrows, flinging them at my feet without so much as a second glance. I furrowed my eyebrows, casting him a look of uncertainty. That sinister grin stayed plastered upon his lips as he said, "Run." *** I, Skyla Ashforth, am what some might call a "sociopath." It was a title that fit. Why shouldn't I embrace it? I am a vampire slayer, a Reaper of bloodsuckers, and an exceptionally good one, if I do say so myself. Yes, being a sociopath has its perks; I could manipulate and deceive with the best of them. So, when captured by the notorious Red Prince, I embraced the challenge of manipulating my freedom. Pierce Darcee, was a sadistic vampire with a God complex. The fool actually believed he could break me. Little did he know, I was the kind of Reaper who would dance through a battlefield, whistling a merry tune as I twirled my braids. I relished the challenge of manipulating his oversized ego, planning to stab that rotting, blackened heart of his with a venom-laced dagger. I crafted a scheme so delightful, so intricate, that I couldn't help but salivate at the prospect of victory. It was foolproof, or so my mind believed. But then... then there was that pull. That unexpected, unwelcome spark that ignited something within me. Feelings, of all things! Now, that was a complication. Disgusting, messy feelings that could very well lead to my destruction. Or his. It was a dangerous game we played, but then again, the most thrilling ones usually are. *Rated M for Murder, Mayhem, and some profanity. Sorry but no smutty interludes. You've stumbled into a blood bath, not a bodice ripper.*

Feel free to click off if any of these make you uncomfortable. ~•~ Something about it was so mysterious about this cave, and I wanted to know more. I entered the cave and saw a red crystal sealed in ice. "Woah." I whispered. The crystal glowed and the ice shattered. I jumped back and fell to the ground, watching as the ice broke completely. My eyes widened and I looked at my hands. "Did I do that?" I asked, but before I could answer, I heard a guard shout for backup as they had heard the ice shattering. I quickly jumped up and stashed the crystal in my pocket before leaving. I crept to the cave the following day, putting the crystal back into the remains of the ice pillar. As I walked away, the crystal fell, causing it to break into a million pieces. I jumped at the sudden noise and stumbled backwards, my eyes widening as a black smog formed around the crystal. "No, no, no, no! Frick." I desperately tried to grab the remains of the crystal, causing one to cut my hand. "Ow! Shit." I whispered, looking at my bleeding hand. "Tch, tch, tch, poor child." A demonic voice said. I looked up and saw that the black smog had two red eyes and a wide, sick smile that was dripping with venom. "I- who are you?" I asked, backing up. "The one who can help you out of here." It said, stretching out a hand. I looked it up and down and before I could answer, its hand plunged into my heart, causing me to scream out in pain. In a world like mine, family are supposed to be the only people you can trust, the only ones who would always have your back. My family is included in that. My father trained us to be killers since we could pick up a knife. I am the youngest of six children in my family and let me say it is not cute or easy. I have been accused, lied to, blackmailed and more. We use each other for our own benefits, like soldiers but still, we're family. This is the story of how I got rid of my disposable soldiers. Who will be trusted and who will be destroyed. While my enemies are playing checkers, I'm playing chess, with a perfect checkmate already in sight. Maybe I can play a few other games along the way. "What? Not so confident anymore are you?" I press my body against him when his back hit the wall. "S-step back," he mumbles attempting to command me. "And if I don't?" I twirl his hair between my fingers. He pushes me back. "D-don't do that," he breathes heavily. "Don't do what, pet?" I tilt my head. "Don't try to control me," his eyes don't meet my gaze. "My sweet Bunny, I'm not trying to control you..." I stalk towards him like a predator stalking it's prey, a wolf catching its meal. When I got close enough, I put my lips to his ear, wrapping my left hand around his neck. "I do control you." I push him to his knees. "That is where you belong, on your fucking knees."
