Not only did she decide to leave behind her entire family and friends in South Dakota, she decided to move to the one place her family never wanted to go: Washington State. Gwen's mother always said it was too cold, too rainy, too much. But Gwen loved it. But here she was, on the gloomy beaches of Edmonds, Washington, she finds herself some unlikely friends.
