Adina is a normal girl with a 'as normal as you could get it' life. The special thing about her isn't her brilliant smile, sunny personality, or intense mind... It was her soul.

Brand new after the long pause between the older creations and the new, her soul is the first one to come in a very long time, and her new friends up in the sky are worried about it's first reincarnation on earth. They only want the best, but their strong fears of change and stereotypes are holding them back. It's up to her soul, to make sure she can change their minds.

Adina moved right after middle school from the city to a rural no where. She makes new friends with all types of people, some that enjoy walking that thin line between good and "bad". She makes enemies, although rare, and she learns how to make pies, cookies, and other delicious confections. She also learns how to ride a horse ... maybe. She's learning to take care of her new property and the massive hoard of plants and responsibility that have come with it too. But most of all, she learns that peoples actions, aren't really what define them at all.

Welcome to the story of learning.

"The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out. [Complete. Wattys 2023 Winner] The Redding takes you if it knows your name. That's the rule that's kept Meg alive --- or awake, rather --- since the night the world went to hell. Nobody knows where the red stuff came from, but it acts like water, it's in the water, and it falls as rain every night. The people it captures drop like puppets with their strings cut. They're asleep, not dead, and you can wake them if you say their name again. But then they just try to kill you. Meg and the other survivors she's befriended think they've found a stable equilibrium, six weeks after the catastrophe began. Nicknames become real names, and Meg knows she's getting better at identifying safe houses. Her crush discovers that Morse code, like writing, is a safe way to say a Sleeper's name. It's the night after learning it that Meg wakes up just as the nightly rain is starting. Raindrops, as it turns out, can make dots and dashes, too. The Redding can talk. And it's telling her to run. ❖❖❖ Complete. Wattys 2023 Winner. Book 1 of the "Used to Be" Series Scarlett Fisher: the school's resident mean girl. Beautiful, smart (but doesn't let people know), charismatic, confident (or at least that's what everyone thinks.) The truth is, she's scared, Scared that one day people will see past her smile and charm, and see the person she really is on the inside. Scared that someone will remember who she used to be. ~•~ Now I know I seem like a bitch, and your probably thinking I'm your stereotypical mean girl, but I wasn't always like this, back when high school first started. I had a best friend who I thought I would be friends with forever. I was shy and timid, and I was foolish enough to believe what people told me. Back then everyone knew me as Arora. After the incident I decided to stop going by my first name, I had also learned that being mean, and not taking anything form anyone was the only way to get people to treat you with respect. ~•~ Arora Fisher: the girl most people didn't notice until they needed help with homework, the girl who was voted most likely to disappear and no one would notice. The girl who her believed in the good in others, who wanted to just give people a chance, no matter how many red flags. The girl who was lost to tragedy. ~•~ "We'll be broken together." He try's to smile, but he can't manage it and I nod, knowing how much pain he feels. "We'll be broken together." I whisper, after that we sit there, in an empty silence, neither of us wanting to be the first one to speak again, because it feels off, like the sound of our own voices might somehow break our hearts more.
