If you were abused while participating in Boy Scouts of America, you could receive financial compensation. Since the 1920's, more than 12,000 individuals have come forward alleging abuse while participating in Boy Scouts. As a result, 7,800 abusers have been identified. On February 18, 2020 the Boy Scouts of America filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy to create a Victim's Compensation Fund.
The deadline to file a claim is November 16, 2020. If you were physically, sexually, or emotionally abused or hazed while participating in any Boy Scout of America program including but not limited to: Cub Scouts, Webalos, Blazer Scouts, Sea Scouts, Explorer Scouts, or as a Boy Scout you may be eligible to file a claim. Your claim may date as far back as 1965.
