Oakly has never been the happiest person but no one knows. At school they are a total goof ball who is a dedicated student with friends surrounding them and are completely out of the closet as nonbinary. At home they are a picture perfect "straight heterosexual" But in their head its a different story, they are falling apart and no one can see to help. One day disaster hits and they must make a choice that will change their life.
Harper just move to town to live with their dad and step-mom and wants to make friends. She doesn't feel like she belongs. When she finds someone sitting on a park bench sobbing their eyes out late in the afternoon her priorities change as she becomes desperate to show them that's is okay to not be okay. She must also decide if keeping Oakley hidden is the best way to protect them.
