❝Ary Aragon witnesses someone committing suicide, but the unthinkable happens―the body disappears.❞

With her best friend's support and a ticket to Seri Rue University (SRU), Ary Aragon wastes no time in escaping the unyielding chains of abuse her father and brother roped around her. Fear is no longer merely an acquaintance; looking over her shoulder becomes much more than a habit. Panic eats at Ary's sanity, distorting the sense of normality she thinks is all but hopeless to achieve. They will come for her. They always do.

To achieve a sense of protection, she applies to a self-defense class to ward herself from them, but reality has a funny way of clawing sense back into Ary's world. Before her very eyes, a student from SRU commits suicide, but the body-it vanishes.

Now, with deranged cephibions at her tail and the devil's advocate beckoning her soul, Ary knows one thing is certain: an estranged family is the least of her worries.

"I didn't think that the first night at my new college would end with me getting my back broken. And not in the fun way. I'm kind of annoyed about it. Not how I wanted to kick this year off. I got into my dream school, University of Miami. Big change from New York but I've loved this school since I found out what college was. I was looking forward to this for a while. I had decided to spend my first two years at a nearby community college to get my pre rec classes out of the way and save money. It was definitely a good idea, but the vibe of the school was: go to class, go home, and that's it. So to get to a big university I was excited for that cliche "college experience." I was excited to get shitfaced at a frat party, hookup with random guys, join a sorority and probably regret it. It's where you're gonna make the most mistakes, I mean it's the first time most people have complete, or almost complete freedom. Every adult ever always told me "college is where you're supposed to find yourself" and I was really hoping that would reign true. To kick the year off I wanted to have a fun night out with my new roommates who weirdly didn't have any social media so I was moving in with no prior knowledge of these two other than their names Victoria Brooks and Chloe Whitlock. I wanted to get to know them and get to know the area I'd be living in for the next two years. So it was pretty inconvenient for this shit to happen on the first fucking night." * * * * * Morgan Sinclair had expectations for her junior year at her new college: parties, roommates, clubs, friends, even classes and assignments. Among those expectations, was not: finding out about the existence of vampires and the fact that she is one. After one *almost* fatal night out she's forced to navigate a whole new reality. Vampires, lycans, a psychopathic father, betrayal, and blood- and it'll all take her away from everything and everyone she's ever known.

I felt his body close to mine, I knew it was him because my body awoken in way it hasn't before. Not since I met him. I turned around, my back leaning against the fridge door. We were so close, I watch his eyes travel up and down my body before he locks his lips quickly before meeting my eye. "fez" I whispered when our lips were inches apart, his body left mine suddenly and I watch as he walks towards the door. I frown as I watch him lean up grabbing the shutters to pull them down. "fez you have a business to run" I spoke out, unsure of what is actually happening. I know what I want to happen, what I dream would happen. But I've always been a dreamer. "I have a big problem-" I heard his voice ring out, as the shutters hit the ground then he locked the door. He turned around to look at me, his eyes were darker. He looked a thousand times hotter. "a big fucking problem" he said again as he started making his way towards me, his hand come up and knocked on the fridge door. After a moment I heard the door out the back open and close, ashtray had left. "what's the problem? Maybe I-I can help" I felt so many emotions right now, some I'm used to and some that are fucking new. "I doubt that-" he mumbles as he was once again infront of me, one hand was above my head leaning on the fridge door. The other came down to touch my face. "I can't get you out my fucking head, your like a drug" he suddenly said before his hands go to my waist and he pulls my body against his before slamming his lips into mine. ~~~ Nothing in life was easy, including life itself but when you find someone who makes it easier nothing else matters. I mean, just as long as he stands by me. Rates #1 in lexi (20th April 2022)
