California Dreamin'

"Welcome to California" the sign reads, breaking me out of my daydream. I sit up in the backseat, leaning forward until my face was between the front seats.
"Here we are, sweetheart." My dad says with a smile.
"You'll love it here." My mom says as she takes my fathers hand in hers. I sit back, rolling my eyes. I didn't want to move here,leaving everything in Maine behind to go across the country to San Diego.
What happiness can come to me here?Even with my parents in the car and people walking everywhere on the sidewalks...I feel alone.
