Our world was recently severely changed by an asteroid. By recently I mean 13 years ago. The asteroid had carried large particles that were scattered around the planet. These particles then found their way to animals, Causing them to mutate and raid the earth. Eventually the particles then transferred off and into human beings.
There were all types of different species created by this asteroid. Nobody knows where it came from, or how to maintain these species. We now refer to them as powers. Some may be unfortunate and not be able to control their power. Leading to death.
Powers such as from tails forming on humans to wings. Of course some were deadly, and could not be contained. But scientists had figured a way. They ensured we'd have peace amongst our new creatures by developing weapons, containing weaknesses to all these powers. Soon later they'd created a danger ranking. From least dangerous to most. You must be wondering which is the most dangerous. Well that is the immortal.
Immortals are ranked most dangerous due to them being highly unstable and not being able to control their thoughts, leading to actions which change the world.
Immortals are only born every 200 years. Which allows citizens to be safe for more time than they need. Until one particular fellow was born.
