King Rorik, also driven mad by the loss of his own dragon, has become a puppet for the dark god Samaelen. Together, they seek to reach Eketh Nurema first and use its power to silence the Song forever, erasing mortal communion with the dragon god, Azraelkor. To save the creature he has grown to love and prevent the ultimate silence, Wes must choose between the comfort of his own misery and becoming the very monster required to tear a god-fueled king from his throne and save what little good is left in the world.
