Before he got his terrifying vision of his house crumbling to his feet, before the townspeople associated his name with curses and evil, even before he hated his magical gift- Bruno Madrigal, a young naive child, fell in love with the florists' daughter.
Inspired by the song Fourth of July, this book follows the life of Bruno and you, the reader as you overcome the struggles of being magically gifted abilities. Bruno, with his foresight into the future, and you, with the incredible gift of dealing with your two annoying step-brothers.
You grew close to Bruno when you two were younger, he was a happy kid who was strangely obsessed with rats-- and pretty flowers. Your father, the brilliant-minded man, ran the only flower shop in all of Encanto, so the boy would frequently stop by and sniff any of the flowers on display. He was shy at first, always timid when you tried to go up to him, he would hide behind his sisters in an attempt to shield himself, but eventually, they pushed him into you so they could hang out with your step-brothers. You knew you had a slight crush on him, but in the end, you thought nothing of it, because he was a Madrigal! You just never thought something so platonic would end up spiralling into the snowball it has become now.
