A balisong knife is an often folding pocket knife with a partially or fully external sharpened blade. It is designed to resemble the shape of butterfly's wings, hence the name. The knife's blade can be opened by pressing down on one or both of the handels and by pressing inward on the spine at each side beyond the locking mechanism.
