Ever since they could remember, Xiao and Venti had been best friends and grown up together. They were inseparable, and rarely allowed other kids to play with them. As they grow up together, they begin to fight the struggles of life, middle school. They become separated when venti moves away, and leaves Xiao alone. This sends xiao down a hole of depression and loneliness, he didn't dare to talk to anyone else in fear of losing them too. 

Suddenly, high school arrives and they are reunited, but this time venti has a boyfriend and he's the most popular boy at school. He remembers Xiao, but doesn't ever get a chance to talk to him. Soon, the tension between them builds up and they finally have a conversation after all these years. What happens next... well, you'll have to read the book.
